The Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence, known as the Foreign Agents Law, initiated by the ruling party of Georgia, has already entered into force. The document was signed by Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili after overcoming the presidential veto.

Opposition parties in Georgia have appealed to the West to impose sanctions against the leadership of the government and the ruling Georgian Dream party, which are responsible for the adoption of the law on foreign agents. The authors of the appeal state that sanctions should be applied to Bidzina Ivanishvili, Irakli Kobakhidze, Irakli Garibashvili, Kakha Kaladze, Mamuka Mdinaradze, Anri Okhanashvili, Zviad Kharazishvili (Khareba), Shalva Papuashvili, all members of parliament from the Georgian Dream party and their associates.

Armenia does not take part in the meeting of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers in Almaty. Previously, Yerevan refused to be present at all sites of this military-political bloc under the auspices of Russia.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry condemned the unfriendly statements of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. It is noted that his statements recently “are difficult to distinguish from the rhetoric of the Russian leadership.”

Non-governmental organizations (NGO) of Georgia have announced their intention to fight against the law on foreign agents in the Constitutional Court. If this does not produce results, the dispute will continue in the European Court.

The US State Department is releasing a statement in connection with the news that the Anaklia port in Georgia may be built by a Chinese state consortium.

The Armenian authorities suspended broadcasting of the First Russian Channel. The formal reason was the debt to the Armenian television and radio broadcasting network. As the country's Minister of High-Technological Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan noted, the Russian partners did not fulfill their contractual obligations, accumulating a 2.5-month debt.

Umar Daudov and Akhmad-Khadzhi Delimkhanov were appointed to the positions of Deputy Minister of Sports of Chechnya. The first is the son of Magomed Daudov, chairman of the regional government, the second is the nephew of State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov.
