On February 1, Armenia officially joined the International Criminal Court (ICC). Last year, the country's President Vahagn Khachaturian signed a law ratifying the Rome Statute of the ICC. He accepted a statement that Armenia recognizes the powers of the court.
Ratification, which was previously signed by more than 100 states of the world, involves the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the event of his visit to Armenia. Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Peskov called this an “unfriendly step” on the part of Yerevan.
