The Parliament of Georgia has initiated consideration of the draft law entitled «Protection from the influence of the occupier country - Russian Federation».

Ingush elders reported that on 23 February, they were prevented from speaking at a commemorative rally in Nazran on the 79th anniversary of the deportation of the Wainahs. 

The laws «On Transparency of Foreign Influence» and «On Registration of Foreign Agents» discussed in the Parliament will further alienate Georgia from Europe and democratic values. This was announced by President Salome Zurabishvili.

Today, during a visit to Azerbaijan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that he leaves the latest statements of Armenian Prime Minister Nikola Pashinyan entirely on his conscience. The latter said earlier that Russia’s military presence in Armenia "not only does not guarantee security, but also poses a threat to the republic".

The Minister of Justice of Georgia received an official demarche from the EU in connection with the state of health of the arrested ex-president Mikhail Saakashvili. This was stated by EU Ambassador to Georgia Pavel Gerchinsky.

All political groups in Georgia must unite against the Russian coup. In parallel with the failure in Ukraine, the defeat in Moldova, Moscow is going to overtly seize power in Tbilisi in the near future. Former President of the country Mikhail Saakashvili wrote about this in the social network. 

The Executive Body of the Crimean Tatars, the Milli Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, based in Ukraine issued an appeal. In it, the sponsors called on the international community to increase political, military and financial assistance to Ukraine until its sovereignty and territorial integrity were fully established.

The draft law «On Transparency of Foreign Influence» submitted to the Parliament of Georgia causes deep concern and threatens the activities of civil society and media, the UN statement says.
