The sixth president of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, whose legitimacy is not recognized by his predecessor, as well as the opposition and a significant part of civil society, has issued a decree on holding elections to local government bodies on October 4, 2025, the press service reports. The document was signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

Moscow's Basmanny Court has arrested Shahin Shikhlinsky, the head of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in the Urals. He is currently in Yekaterinburg's Pretrial Detention Center No. 1. According to preliminary information, he is accused of attempted murder and violence against a government official.

Joint exercises between Armenia and the US, Eagle Partner 2025, will be held from August 12 to 20. They will involve servicemen from the peacekeeping brigade of the Armenian Armed Forces, the US Army in Europe and Africa, and the Kansas National Guard.
