The European Court of Human Rights ordered Russia to pay more than 129 million euros in compensation to Georgian citizens for violations of their rights during the 2008 war. Thus, compensation of 3.2 million euros is provided for the killing of at least 50 civilians (there were 116 applications), 2.7 million euros for 116 civilian victims of arbitrary detention and inhuman treatment, 640,000 euros - 16 Georgian prisoners of war tortured.

The Armenian newspaper "Graparak" writes that the US is exerting pressure on Armenia to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan as soon as possible. The preliminary version of the document should be signed by the end of May.
