One of three individuals detained in Tbilisi on charges of espionage was 27-year-old Tamaz Goloev (Goloti), a native of Akhalgori, a town in the territory of South Ossetia not controlled by Georgian authorities. This was reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Georgian service.

Grigol Gegelia, a member of the opposition party "Lelo – Strong Georgia," sharply criticized Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze following his statement about the possible "summoning" of the EU ambassador.

The Tbilisi City Court found former Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze guilty of abuse of office and money laundering and sentenced him to 10 years in prison. He was also ordered to forfeit his property—a plot of land and a house in Spain, as well as a house and parking space in the village of Tskneti. Upon his release, he will be banned from holding public office for two years.

According to the Russian Security Council, Armenia's accession to the European Union could lead to a loss of 23% of its GDP. The country's withdrawal from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is projected to reduce its GDP by 15.1% and increase inflation by 14.3%, along with an expected rise in energy prices. This, according to the Russian agency's statement, will lead to a significant decline in living standards in Armenia.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the government's plans to introduce taxes on the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC). As part of the ruling Civil Contract party's election platform, the initiative was presented, according to which the Church, like all citizens, would be subject to a universal tax declaration system.

Ahead of Armenia's parliamentary elections scheduled for June 2026, US Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Thom Tillis called on tech giants Meta and Alphabet to strengthen their fight against Russian disinformation. They emphasized the importance of the elections for Armenia's future, including regional peace initiatives and transportation projects, and stated that foreign interference is unacceptable.
