Ruslan Izzetli, a member of the Institute for Democratic Initiatives, who was arrested in Baku, complained about the lack of access to necessary medical care in the pretrial detention center. Izzetli, who suffers from gallstones, reported that he had requested an ultrasound a month ago but had not yet received an appointment.

Aziz Orujov, head of the Azerbaijani online television channel Kanal-13, was released after two years in prison on charges of illegal construction. Orujov, who denies his guilt, has been recognized by human rights activists as a political prisoner.

OMON officers, along with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, arrived at a mosque in Elektrostal. They began checking the documents of those present.

The defense of Dagestani preacher Akhmad Batlukhsky has filed a complaint with the Investigative Committee of Dagestan alleging falsification of evidence in his criminal case. 

In Crimea, 74-year-old Crimean Tatar historian Enver Seitmemetov has been charged with equating the actions of the USSR with those of Nazi Germany. About ten security officers came to his home in Bakhchisaray and took him to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Center "E" in Simferopol.

Georgi Mamniashvili, an employee of the Georgian opposition television channel TV Pirveli, was subjected to degrading treatment in custody after being detained on November 22. His lawyer, Tornike Migineishvili, stated this, stating that the journalist was handcuffed for several hours and forced to strip naked and do squats. Mamniashvili is reportedly being held in the Dighomi pretrial detention center.

The Angarsk City Court in the Irkutsk Region has sentenced three defendants in the case of torture in Pretrial Detention Center No. 6 in Angarsk, following the suppression of the riot at Penal Colony No. 15 in April 2020. Alexander Aniskov and Vladimir Reshchikov, inmate "activists" acting on orders from prison guards, as well as Dmitry Baroyan, former deputy head of the prison regime and supervision department, were found guilty of sexual assault. Aniskov received 12 years in a maximum-security penal colony, Reshchikov received five years, and Baroyan received six years.

The Nalchik Garrison Military Court sentenced Suleiman Batyrkhanov to one year in a general regime penal colony for leaving his unit without permission during mobilization.

Former Azerbaijani political prisoner Saleh Rustamov has been banned from leaving the country. The activist, who had been living abroad after his release, returned to Baku to attend the funeral of a relative.

Despite the defense's efforts, the Kutaisi Court of Appeals upheld the first-instance ruling that sentenced Mzia Amaglobeli, founder and director of the Batumelebi newspaper group, to two years in prison.
