There is not a single piece of evidence in the criminal case against journalist Nadezhda Kevorkova, except for the examination. This was stated by the defense.

A rally in support of journalist Afgan Sadigov was held near the Azerbaijani embassy in Tbilisi. He has been under arrest in Georgia since August and faces extradition to his homeland. Participants held posters reading “Ilham Aliyev is a dictator.”

Journalist Polad Aslanov, serving a sentence in an Azerbaijani penal colony, has ended his hunger strike. The reason is a sharp deterioration in his health. The prisoner declared a hunger strike, demanding the release of all political prisoners from prisons.

Crimean Tatar activist Aziz Akhtemov, sentenced to 13 years, was transported from a prison in Krasnoyarsk Krai to the maximum security penal colony IK-10 in Altai. The transfer lasted almost two months, during which Akhtemov was held in pre-trial detention centers in Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, and Barnaul. The distance between Crimea and Altai is 4,500 km.

Yesterday, the Russian Ministry of Justice added to the list of foreign agents. Its new defendants are Chechen opposition blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov, journalist of the independent Russian online publication Mediazona Dmitry Treshchanin, stand-up comedian Denis Chuzhoy, who spoke out against the war, and the online publication about life in the regions Govorit NeMoskva.

A court in Makhachkala arrested activist and sports commentator Ramazan Rabadanov for two months, until January 7. He was accused of illegal arms and ammunition trafficking.

The international journalistic organization Reporters Without Borders and the Committee to Protect Journalists condemned the detention of Azerbaijani journalist Polad Aslanov in a punishment cell and called for his release.
