Four residents of Buynaksk have been remanded in custody by the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala. They are suspected of plotting a terrorist attack – the bombing of the district police department building.

Officers from the Economic Security Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted searches of his home and workplace. The searches were part of a criminal investigation into a case of bribery on an especially large scale.

The defense team for Chechen teenager Muslim Murdiyev intends to appeal the sentence, according to Chechen Human Rights Commissioner Mansur Soltayev. He noted that Murdiyev has already served 11.5 months under house arrest and has one year remaining in prison.

Speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy compared the situations in Moldova and Georgia.
