The republics of the North Caucasus were at the bottom of the rating of Russian regions by salaries in various industries, compiled by RIA Novosti experts. The highest incomes in Ingushetia, Chechnya, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, North Ossetia, Dagestan and the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic are paid in the civil service (57-63 thousand rubles on average). This industry turned out to be the leading one only in the republics of the North Caucasus and in Kalmykia.
