Opposition Azerbaijani journalist Afgan Mukhtarli has called on the Georgian authorities to release Mzia Amaglobeli, the founder and director of the Batumelebi newspaper group. She has been on a hunger strike in prison for over a month in protest – she is accused of using violence against a police officer.

In two months, the number of political prisoners in Azerbaijan has increased by 26 people and reached 357. The list was compiled by the director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy Leyla Yunus and the head of the Center for Monitoring Political Prisoners Elshan Hasanov.

The Derbent City Court ruled to remand 37-year-old Sandro Shikhmagomedov in custody for two months. The son of the former head of the Tabasaran District of Dagestan is suspected of attacking and wounding a police officer. Two of his accomplices are also awaiting arrest.

Calls to go to a rally to defend the "Russian House" project controlled by Rossotrudnichestvo in Baku, which are sent out allegedly on behalf of the center, are a "dirty provocation."
