On August 2, 2001, at about midnight, in the village of Kalinin, Grozny, in an armored personnel carrier, Russian servicemen arrived at the house of Zaman Markhiyev.

On August 1, 2001, early in the morning in the first half of August, the Russian military took Satsita Sadykova, a mother of two children, from a 9-storey building on Olimpiyskiy Proyezd in Grozny.
