The Nalchik Garrison Military Court in Kabardino-Balkaria found Murad Khutiev guilty of leaving his military unit without permission during mobilization (Part 5, Article 337 of the Russian Criminal Code) and sentenced him to seven years in prison.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that construction of the Zangezur Corridor in the country is nearing completion. In November 1944, on Stalin's orders, approximately 86,000 Meskhetian Turks were forcibly deported from Meskheti (a region in modern-day Georgia) to Central Asia. This deportation resulted in the deaths of 17,000 people, and the survivors found new homes in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
