Large-scale protests in the Georgian capital have been going on for the fourth day. Demonstrators, standing on the steps of the parliament, are throwing stones and firecrackers at the security forces. In response, special forces, sitting behind the columns, generously spray the protesters with a water cannon: the water is icy, the air temperature in the city is approaching zero. Local media reports that detentions have begun near the parliament building again.
