The people of Georgia have always and at all times, including in the streets, made only one choice - the path to Europe. This was stated by President Salome Zurabishvili.

The ruling party of Georgia «Georgian Dream» has issued a statement on repeal of the law on foreign agents, which led to two days of mass protests and riots in Tbilisi.

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky supported the participants of protests at the Parliament of Georgia, which also brought Ukrainian flags. " This respect for Ukraine, and I want to express sincere respect for Georgia," he said.

On March 8, 2005, President of the Chechen Republic Ichkeria Aslan Maskhadov died in the village of Tolstoy-yurt.  During the special operation, he was killed by officers of the Russian Federal Security Service.

Today, the Balkar people recall the 79-year-old Stalin deportation. On March 8, 1944, 37,000 people, mostly elderly people, women and children, were deported to Kazakhstan and Central Asia. In March 1, 1944, Kazakhstan and Central Asia were expelled. Almost 40 per cent of them did not return home after rehabilitation.
