A criminal case against a 19-year-old resident of Makhachkala, accused of murdering a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Magomed Mutayev, has been transferred to court. 19-year-old Nadirkhan Kadirkhanov is charged with murder (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and illegal acquisition and possession of weapons (Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

In the text, RSF condemned the repression and lawlessness in Azerbaijan, against which today's hearings in the case of the aforementioned representatives of the independent press will take place. According to the organization, partner countries should respond to the situation by putting forward a condition for further cooperation to the Azerbaijani authorities - an end to the use of the judicial system to suppress the media.
