The defense maintains that the actions of the female tourists triggered the escalation that ultimately led to physical violence.

The death toll from a drone attack on a beach in the resort town of Arkhipo-Osipovka near Gelendzhik has risen to four, according to Maria Lvova-Belova, the Russian Children's Rights Commissioner. Krasnodar Krai authorities previously reported seven fatalities, including three children.

Authorities in Russia’s North Ossetia republic have said they are taking measures to protect Karina Kodzayeva, who became the target of an online harassment campaign after posts published by platforms affiliated with the Caucasian Community movement. The search for 27-year-old Bekkhan (Abu) Aushev, who is missing after allegedly falling into the Assa River in the Dzheyrakh District on July 21, has been ongoing in Ingushetia for 13 days. The young man has not yet been found.

In the Khojavend region of Azerbaijan, Ahad Ahadov Sarvan oglu, born in 1985, an employee of a private company, was struck by an anti-personnel mine during humanitarian demining operations. He sustained shrapnel wounds to various parts of his body, including his left thigh. He was hospitalized at the Fizuli-Khojavend Central District Hospital and then transferred to a private clinic in Baku. According to doctors, his condition is satisfactory and there is no threat to his life.

A Russian citizen injured in a hotel conflict in Telavi, Georgia, has left Georgia. Investigators have not restricted her right to leave the country, lawyer Lali Aptsiauri told TASS.

Police in Russia's North Ossetia have launched an inquiry following a campaign of online harassment targeting women through the Telegram channel Kavkazskaya Obshchina ("Caucasian Community"). The channel's administrators published women's personal information, insulted them and issued threats of violence over behaviour they claimed violated Caucasian traditions. 

Another public initiative aimed at protecting "national values" has emerged in Georgia. This time, the launch of a platform was announced by actor Giorgi Shanidze, director Giorgi Sikharulidze, and Kote Mzhavia, the director of the Batumi Drama Theater. They propose drafting a law intended—in their view—to protect the church, sacred sites, historical figures, and other "fundamental values" of the country.
