Adam Kadyrov, the 18-year-old son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, has been named an "honorary citizen" of Kurchaloy district. It is the latest in a series of awards and honorary titles received by the head of Chechnya's son, who has accumulated dozens of distinctions since autumn 2023.

A court in the Stavropol Region sentenced a 40-year-old resident of the village of Staroizobilnenskaya to ten months of correctional labor for desecrating a mass grave of Soviet soldiers.

A bulldozer struck a mine in Azerbaijan’s Khojavend district in an area that has not yet been cleared of explosive hazards. Two men—37-year-old Sanan Farajev and 23-year-old Fuad Akhmedov—were injured. The incident was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).

A four-year-old boy who was killed when a drone crashed onto a beach in Arkhipo-Osipovka near Gelendzhik has been buried in Russia's Rostov region. His parents, who were also seriously injured in the attack, were able to attend the funeral after being transferred from a hospital in Krasnodar Krai to Rostov-on-Don.

The Southern District Military Court has sentenced Magomed Bortiev, a resident of Chechnya, to six years in a general-regime penal colony. The court found him guilty of publicly calling for extremist activity and promoting terrorism.

The Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Regional Public Foundation plans to provide humanitarian assistance to up to 1 million people in the Gaza Strip, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said on his Telegram channel.  Kadyrov said 1,514 families in western and eastern parts of the besieged enclave received assistance during the latest phase of the foundation's humanitarian programme.

Umar Dzhanbaruyev, who was involved in the criminal case over the mass unrest at Makhachkala airport in October 2023, has been killed while fighting in Ukraine, according to the head of Dagestan's Public Monitoring Commission. He is the second person involved in the airport riots known to have gone to the front and died there.

The United States, Armenia and Azerbaijan say they have made progress towards lasting peace in the South Caucasus, a year after the leaders of the three countries met at the White House.

A newborn baby girl was found abandoned at a playground in Armenia's capital, Yerevan, on Aug. 10. She was given emergency medical treatment and taken to hospital, where doctors said her condition was stable. Police and investigators are searching for her mother.
