The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan announced the arrest of the former head of the territorial office of Rosimushchestvo (unofficially identified as Umakhan Abakarov). A criminal case has been opened against him under the article on abuse of office committed for mercenary gain (Section "e" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Russian Criminal Code).

In Elektrostal, near Moscow, the funeral of 18-year-old Ilya Polezhaev, who died in a street fight with 19-year-old Tajik citizen Imomali Turdiev, was held under heavy police and Russian National Guard surveillance. The Elektrostal City Court that same day remanded Turdiev to two months' pretrial detention on murder charges. He will be held until March 18th, and faces up to 15 years in prison.

The Nalchik Garrison Military Court convicted a serviceman listed on the court's website as Wilhelm (his full name is not provided).

A military court in Nalchik sentenced serviceman Adam Yevloyev to a year in prison for leaving his unit without leave during mobilization.

The Second Western District Military Court sentenced Ingush natives Ramazan Padiyev and Batukhan Tochiyev to 18 and 22 years in a maximum-security penal colony. According to Kommersant, they were found guilty of complicity in the terrorist attack that resulted in the deaths of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of Russia's Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense (RCBD) forces, and his adjutant, Ilya Polikarpov.

A study by the Center for Political Information found that Dagestan is among the regions with the highest number of civil servants dismissed "for loss of confidence" since 2022 (69). At the same time, Chechnya has one of the lowest rates in the country, with only two dismissals.

A fight broke out at a bus stop in Elektrostal, Moscow Region, between 19-year-old Tajik national Imomali Turdiev and 18-year-old Ilya Polezhaev. Polezhaev was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Security forces reported the death of a Kislovodsk resident during an arrest on suspicion of involvement in the plotting of the terrorist attack foiled in Stavropol in December 2025.

Ullubiy Khanmurzayev, the former head of Dagestan's Buinaksk district, who had previously gone to war against Ukraine as a "volunteer" after being accused of corruption, has been arrested on fraud charges.

According to the 2025 RIA Novosti rating, Chechnya, Ingushetia, and Dagestan demonstrated the lowest recorded crime rates among Russian regions. In Chechnya, the rate was 15.8 crimes per 10,000 residents, 37.4 in Ingushetia, and 41.6 in Dagestan.
