Former Head of Rosimushchestvo Arrested in Dagestan

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan announced the arrest of the former head of the territorial office of Rosimushchestvo (unofficially identified as Umakhan Abakarov). A criminal case has been opened against him under the article on abuse of office committed for mercenary gain (Section "e" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Russian Criminal Code).

In Elektrostal, near Moscow, the funeral of 18-year-old Ilya Polezhaev, who died in a street fight with 19-year-old Tajik citizen Imomali Turdiev, was held under heavy police and Russian National Guard surveillance. The Elektrostal City Court that same day remanded Turdiev to two months' pretrial detention on murder charges. He will be held until March 18th, and faces up to 15 years in prison.

The Second Western District Military Court sentenced Ingush natives Ramazan Padiyev and Batukhan Tochiyev to 18 and 22 years in a maximum-security penal colony. According to Kommersant, they were found guilty of complicity in the terrorist attack that resulted in the deaths of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of Russia's Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense (RCBD) forces, and his adjutant, Ilya Polikarpov.
