Russian writer Boris Akunin (Grigory Chkhartishvili), born in Georgia and living abroad, commented on the plans of the authorities of his homeland to approve the law on “foreign agents”.

Azerbaijani authorities are carrying out ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, erasing all traces of the presence of Armenians, including cultural and religious heritage. They did nothing for the safe return of Armenians to Karabakh. This was stated during the hearings in The Hague by the representative of Armenia at the International Court of Justice Yeghishe Kirakosyan.

Today the Georgian parliament will hold the first hearing on the adoption of the bill on foreign agents. It provides for the appearance of a register in which all non-profit legal entities and media outlets financed by more than 20% from abroad will be entered.

There was a fight in the Georgian parliament over the law on foreign agents. The leader of the opposition party Citizens, Aleko Elisashvili, attacked the head of the parliamentary majority, Mamuka Mdinaradze, when he spoke about the above-mentioned bill.

A demonstration against the adoption of the bill on foreign agents is taking place outside the parliament building in Tbilisi. Participants unfurled the EU flag. The protesters are chanting the slogans “No to the Russian law”, “No to the Russian dream”.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz criticized the bill on foreign agents initiated by the ruling Georgian Dream party. This happened at a joint press conference in Berlin after a meeting with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

Closed hearings on the issue of border delimitation with Azerbaijan were held in the Armenian parliament. Speaker Alen Simonyan did not rule out the possibility of refusing to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.

Answering a question about the impact of the law on foreign agents initiated by the Georgian authorities, EU Ambassador to Georgia Pavel Gerchinsky said that it is incompatible with European norms and values.

Armenia does not want to argue with Russia, but relations with it are being transformed. Now there is a transition from relations between “historical Armenia” and Russia to relations between “real Armenia” and Russia. This is sometimes as painful as the internal transformation in Armenia itself. This statement was made in parliament in Yerevan by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
