Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan congratulated the people on Citizen’s Day. He noted that there are no political prisoners in the country, all information is available to the public through television, media, social networks, and public and economic activities are completely free. According to Pashinyan, the reason for all the failures, including the war with Azerbaijan, is that for many years the country lacked democracy, law and taboos.

The European Court of Human Rights ordered Russia to pay more than 129 million euros in compensation to Georgian citizens for violations of their rights during the 2008 war. Thus, compensation of 3.2 million euros is provided for the killing of at least 50 civilians (there were 116 applications), 2.7 million euros for 116 civilian victims of arbitrary detention and inhuman treatment, 640,000 euros - 16 Georgian prisoners of war tortured.

The Armenian newspaper "Graparak" writes that the US is exerting pressure on Armenia to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan as soon as possible. The preliminary version of the document should be signed by the end of May. It is mentioned that US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Olson, who recently visited Yerevan and Baku, brought with her a draft version.
