Crimean Tatar political prisoner Rustem Gugurik was transported to IK-8 in Buryatia, which is 6,500 kilometers from his home. This was reported at an OSCE conference by his relative Tatyana Lukyanenko.

The Basmanny Court of Moscow granted the investigation's motion and extended the arrest of journalist Nadezhda Kevorkova for another month, until November 6. The defendant is charged under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls to commit terrorist activity, public justification of terrorism, or propaganda of terrorism). The maximum punishment provided for by such a charge is imprisonment for up to 7 years.

A student from Volgograd, Nikita Zhuravel, who was sentenced to 3.5 years on charges of burning the Koran, corresponded on Telegram with SBU officers and offered to cooperate with them. This was reported by the prosecutor's office.

The Nalchik Garrison Military Court sentenced 39-year-old contract soldier Batyr Kanshokov to two years in prison. He was found guilty of evading military service, while from September 2023 to January 2024 he took part in the SVO.

Since 2023, the Azerbaijani authorities have intensified repression against human rights defenders, lawyers, journalists, opposition politicians, activists and scientists. Torture and ill-treatment are widespread in places of detention.
