The Supreme Court of Dagestan is considering the case of Islamic preacher Abu Umar Sasitlinsky (Israil Akhmednabiyev), who is accused in absentia of organizing anti-Semitic riots at the Makhachkala airport in October 2023.

A native of Chechnya, Said-Mukhamad Dzhumaev, recognized as a political prisoner by the Memorial human rights center, was released from a prison colony in the Tambov region. He served a five-year sentence for clashes with security forces during a protest in support of Alexei Navalny in Moscow in 2021.

Three teenagers in Chechnya were released after their fathers signed contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry. The schoolchildren were held in the Interior Ministry department for more than six months without access to lawyers, charges, or the opportunity to meet with their families. 16-year-olds Mansur Shabazov, Said Idigov, and Elbrus Saidaev were abducted back in December 2024, according to Memorial Human Rights Center employees. As his mother Leyla Nakhshunova told the publication "Ponyano.Media", the young man was detained in the Moscow region in early January on suspicion of fraud. At the police station, he was offered to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense. When he refused, they began to torture him - they put a gas mask on his head and squeezed his chest, causing him to lose consciousness.
