Heavy rains have caused further flooding in Dagestan. They have flooded the streets of Makhachkala, including the area near the Primorskaya substation, as well as sections of the Kavkaz federal highway and roads in the Derbent district.

Emergency vaccination against viral hepatitis A has begun in flood-affected areas of Dagestan. The regional office of Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) announced this, emphasizing that the measure was introduced due to the increased risk of infection spread in emergency zones.

The impact of flooding and waterlogging in Dagestan and Chechnya is preliminarily estimated at over 1 billion rubles. Speaking at a meeting in Dagestan, Yuri Chaika, the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, demanded that the republic's authorities promptly prepare and submit to the government commission documents substantiating the material damage.

Construction of houses for people left homeless by the natural disaster that struck the republic in late March has already begun in Chechnya. Work is underway in the village of Novy Benoy in the Gudermes District, where individual houses are already being erected, while foundations are being poured in other areas, and necessary utilities are being installed.

Over 43,000 residents of Dagestan affected by the floods have submitted applications for payments. However, approximately half of these applications (24,000) will not be processed because the applicants did not provide an address. This prevents the payment of 15,675 rubles from being awarded to each affected person.

Preliminary results of the flooding that occurred in late March 2026 have been released in Chechnya. According to current data, the disaster affected over 3,000 homes, over 100 of which were completely destroyed.

In Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, relief efforts continue following flooding caused by heavy rains and flash floods. According to Mayor Dzhambulat Salavov, a total of 320 people have been evacuated from flooded areas. Of these, 129 residents remain in five temporary accommodation centers and hotels, while the rest have found shelter with relatives.

The Chechen Republic has been hit by severe flooding caused by heavy rainfall. The natural disaster has led to flooding, destruction of roads, housing, and infrastructure, according to regional governor Ramzan Kadyrov. He noted that relevant services were quickly deployed, and a state of emergency has been declared in several districts.
