The number of returnees to Armenia from other countries is growing steadily. This was reported in the office of the Diaspora Commissioner.

Rescuers from Azerbaijan continue to eliminate the consequences of a strong earthquake in Turkey. Emergency Situations Ministry rescued 51 people and removed 613 bodies. Four Azerbaijani students are still under the rubble. 

The trucks crossed the Margara Bridge on the border, which had been closed between Armenia and Turkey for 35 years. Ankara Special Representative Serdar Kylych thanked Yerevan for the assistance rendered to the victims of the earthquake by his fellow citizens.

Russian Muslims donated more than 150 million rubles to charitable foundations to help those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. The Chechens of Azerbaijan are also providing humanitarian assistance.
 

Agora Analytical Collective conducted a survey among Azerbaijani youth aged between 18 and 35. They were asked about national security and allies.

On February 9, the Chechen parliament unanimously approved amendments to the Constitution of the republic, according to which the head of the region began to be called “mekhk-da,” which literally translates from Chechen as “father of the region,” but in this context is used to mean “father of the people.” In addition, an addition was made to the Basic Law of Chechnya that the head is the guarantor of the “rights and freedoms of man and citizen” in the region and is responsible for territorial integrity and the maintenance of peace and harmony.

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don started the trial of the murder in Moscow of Ibrahim Eljarkiev, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Ingushetia, and his brother. The accused pleaded not guilty.

Сейсмоактивность после Турции низкого энергетического класса заметили в Северной и Южной Осетии, Грузии, Чечне, но люди ничего не почувствовали. Об этом сообщили в филиале Единой геофизической службы РАН.

На сегодняшний день известно о гибели от стихийного бедствия в Турции нескольких десятков черкесов и двух граждан Грузии. Также от ранений скончался один ребенок из армянской диаспоры.  Известно, что из-под завалов вызволены четверо азербайджанских студентов.
