The international non-governmental organization «Reporters without Borders» has released an annual world rating of freedom of speech. In it, Russia took the 164th place out of 180 possible, having dropped to 9 positions at once.

The most popular destinations for holidays in May among Russians were Kaliningrad, Saint Petersburg and Dagestan. 

According to the survey of online booking service «Daily.ru», Dagestan and Kislovodsk along with Kaliningrad were also among the three most budget directions - up to 4000 rubles per day. 
Last year in the top 5 most popular places for May holidays included Caucasian Minvody, Archy, Elbrus.

Soon Russia will celebrate May 9 and hang Georgian ribbons on its chest. This military symbol has nothing to do with the Great Patriotic War, but it symbolizes the victory of the Tsarist army over the Highlanders in the Caucasian War. Such an explanation was given by the historian and political scientist Mairbek Vachagaev.

In 2022, the number of residents with mental disorders in Chechnya increased from 13 to 14,000. In Dagestan their number increased from 3,500 to 4,500. This is stated in the report of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

Two deminers blew up on the outskirts of the Chechen town of Shali. This is the battalion commander and a rescue bomb from Saint Petersburg, looking for explosive objects along the roads. 
Both servicemen missed the «PMN-1» anti-personnel mine and an explosion occurred. One man was injured in the right arm and foot, while the other suffered multiple abrasions and minor injuries.

Head of Karachaevo-Cherkessia Rashid Temrezov signed a decree declaring May 3 in the region a holiday. This is due to the celebration of the 66th anniversary of the return of the Karachai people to their historical homeland from the places of deportation.

In a number of cities of the Russian Federation, including Stavropol, Vladikavkaz, Caspiysk and Mozdok, local authorities announced the holding of parades on May 9. 

Thus, in North Ossetia, military parades will be held in Vladikavkaz and Mozdok. Representatives of the Defense Ministry will participate in them. At the celebration in Vladikavkaz mechanized column will make 23 pieces of military equipment.

Chechnya and Dagestan demonstrated a low level of employment of graduates who received secondary vocational or higher education in the field of health care. This was reported in the Russian government. 
In general, 66 per cent of graduates and 69 per cent of graduates of higher education were employed in Russia in 2021. The figure was 39 per cent in Chechnya, 32 per cent in Dagestan and 42 per cent in Ingushetia.

VTsIOM conducted a sociological study, which showed that the highest level of happiness in Russia - residents of the North Caucasus (7.21 points). On the second place of the rating - the Southern District (7.1), on the third - Volga (6.8).
