The Supreme Court of Russia confirmed five years of imprisonment to the native of Dagestan Murad Dadashev. Such a term was given to him for posting on the Internet clips with supporters of the independence of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria and photos of field commander Shamil Basayev. The accused himself claimed that he had not published anything.

The Association «Vaifonda» has received a notification from the Commission for the Control of Files of Interpol on the withdrawal of Dagestan preacher Israel Akhmednabiyev, better known as Abu Umar Sashilinsky, from the international search. The Commission concluded that the political or religious objectives prevailed in the Ahmednabiyev case and therefore did not satisfy the requirements of article 3 of the Interpol Statute. There are also witnesses in the case file who testified under torture.

In January-March 2023, the Russian authorities carried out 83 arrests in Crimea on politically motivated cases. Of these, 54 were against members of the Crimean Tatar people. In addition, 21 searches were carried out, 19 of them in the homes of Crimean Tatars.
