Russia is biased against Crimean Tatars. When Moscow prepares lists of prisoners of war for exchange, it always excludes Crimean Tatar names. This was reported by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the leader of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Cemilev.

On March 2, the ASTRA telegram channel reported that a criminal case had been opened in Chechnya against Muslim Madiev, the deputy commander of the Chechen battalion named after Dzhokhar Dudayev, who has been fighting on the side of Ukraine since 2014.

On March 2, the appellate instance of the Supreme Court of Chechnya, having considered a complaint from the Russian Ministry of Finance, reduced compensation to a local resident who suffered from illegal criminal prosecution to 150 thousand rubles.

On March 2, in the Rostov District Military Court, chaired by Judge Rizvan Zubairov, another criminal trial began against detachment member Shamil Basayev. Roman Gakaev is accused of three serious articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: armed rebellion, banditry and encroachment on the lives of military personnel.

The Southern District Military Court received a criminal case against Crimean Tatars Enver Krog, Vilen Temerianov, Rinat Aliyev, Murat Mustafayev, Seigna Abbozov and Eden Bekirov. They are accused of association with the banned Islamic political party «Hizb ut-Tahrir» and actions in favor of Ukraine.

The Tbilisi Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal filed by the lawyers of the former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili demanding his release or suspension of punishment due to his health condition.

Grozny Garrison Military Court refused to dismiss Movsar Arsanov from the Russian Armed Forces. The basis was the law on mobilization.

Lawyers of the CDHR «Memorial» submitted their explanations to the ECHR on the case of former police colonel Dagestan Saleh Hajiyev. In 2013, he was dismissed after remarks about corruption in the MIA system. 

The criminal case concerning the disappearance of Movsara Umarov in 2020 in Grozny did not go to trial. The investigation refuses to search for the men involved in the disappearance, said the «Committee against Torture». 

In the past year of the Russian war with Ukraine, 57 Crimean Tatars - political prisoners received convictions. The total term of their imprisonment was almost 700 years, CrymSOS reported.
