President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili congratulated Ukraine on Independence Day. The head of state recorded a video message in English, wishing the Ukrainian people to liberate the country from occupation and restore peace on their land.

The Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don held another hearing on the case of Magomed Alkhanov, a native of Chechnya. He is accused of attacking a company of Pskov paratroopers in February 2000 near the village of Ulus-Kert in the Vedensky District during the second Russian-Chechen war. The Memorial Center reported that the criminal case was fabricated.

Political scientist Bahruz Samadov has been detained in Baku. He published articles criticizing the Azerbaijani government in Western media and analytical publications. Security forces came to Samadov's house under the pretext of searching for drugs, which were not found. As a result, they took the political scientist himself, his documents, and his computer with them.

According to media reports, the rights of prisoners from Dagestan are being violated en masse in IK-2 in the Smolensk region. More than 60 people are in solitary confinement, many are cutting their veins due to unbearable conditions.
