Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Moscow region are leaders in the ranking of Russian regions in terms of quality of life. The outsiders are Tuva, Ingushetia and the Jewish Autonomous Region. RIA Novosti reported this. Among the regions of the North Caucasian Federal District, the KBR ranks 64th, Dagestan – 67th, Chechnya – 68th, Karachay-Cherkessia – 79th.

Prolonged shallowing of the Caspian Sea could hit plans for the development of beach tourism in Dagestan. This was reported by leading researcher at the Institute of Geology of the Far Eastern Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences Idris Idrisov.

The average old-age pension in Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Ingushetia and Karachay-Cherkessia is from 14 to 16 thousand rubles per month. These are the lowest pension payments in the Russian Federation. The situation is slightly better in Chechnya and North Ossetia - about 16.5 thousand rubles.

Armenia leads among neighboring countries in remittances by the end of 2023. 3.6 billion dollars were sent there from the Russian Federation (plus 15% compared to 2022, excluding December). Kyrgyzstan ranks second (2.3 billion), Georgia – third (1.5 billion). $230 million was sent to Kazakhstan from Russia.

Over the year, in Adygea and Kabardino-Balkaria, eggs have almost doubled in price - the increase was 97% and 93%, respectively, Rosstat reports.

Armenia topped the list of the most popular travel destinations for Russians in 2023 with a booking share of almost 18%.
