New Year's trees and winter bouquets are the cheapest in the North Caucasus. According to research, the average Christmas tree bill in the North Caucasus Federal District is 3,300 rubles, significantly lower than in other federal districts, especially compared to the Far Eastern Federal District, where the average price reaches 7,000 rubles.

In the run-up to the New Year holidays, Ingushetia authorities have tightened price controls on food and essential goods. Head of the republic, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, announced daily inspections and a limit on trade markups to 10%.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze expressed concern that food prices in Georgian supermarkets are significantly higher than in Europe. A comparative analysis revealed significant differences in the prices of many goods.

Based on the results of the first 11 months of 2025, the leading regions in new company and individual entrepreneur registration activity were Mari El (a 26% increase compared to the same period in 2024), Chuvashia (24%), and Dagestan (20%).

The final ranking of Russian regions' socioeconomic development for 2025, compiled by RIA Novosti, revealed a significant lag in the North Caucasus republics. Ingushetia ranked last, 85th. Karachay-Cherkessia (81st), North Ossetia (78th), Chechnya (77th), Kabardino-Balkaria (75th), and Dagestan (74th) also ranked low.

Ingushetia and other regions of the North Caucasus have the lowest personal income levels in Russia. In the RIA Novosti rating, Ingushetia ranked 85th, with a per capita income to cost ratio of 1.20 and a per capita income of 26,800 rubles per month, the lowest in the country.

A RIA Novosti study revealed significant differences in car affordability across Russian regions. The worst situation is observed in the North Caucasus republics, where only a small proportion of families can afford to purchase and maintain a new car on credit.

FinExpertiza analysts found that in 2024, the lowest cybersecurity spending in Russia was on businesses and the public sector in Altai (27,500 rubles per enterprise), Dagestan (33,500), and Ingushetia (33,000).

The People's Assembly of Ingushetia adopted the republic's 2026 budget with a record deficit of 843 million rubles. This is 467 million rubles higher than last year's figure.
