Tuva, Chechnya and Ingushetia have become leaders in the level of dependence on payments from the federal budget of the Russian Federation. The share of transfers in financing the expenses of these regions in 2024 was 79%, 78.8% and 78%, respectively, according to the Federal Treasury.

Grozny, Cherkessk and Vladikavkaz are among the top ten most successful cities in terms of housing construction dynamics per capita.

From July 1, tariffs for housing and communal services in Dagestan will increase. The expected increase - up to 22.3% - is the maximum value in the North Caucasus Federal District.

Within four years, thanks to the implementation of investment projects and increased tax collection, Ingushetia may leave the list of subsidized regions. This was stated by the head of the republic, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, at a session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Over the first five months of 2025, the commissioning of new housing in the North Caucasus Federal District decreased by 28.5% to 3.1 million square meters. The most pronounced negative dynamics are in Dagestan, where the figure fell almost threefold (to 624.9 thousand square meters).

The regions of the North Caucasus Federal District produced 22.1 thousand tons of lamb in the first three months of 2025. This is 11.5% more than in the same period of 2024.

The ratio of the median (average) income of the population of Ingushetia to the cost of a fixed set of goods and services is only 1.13, and a quarter of the population lives below the poverty line. The republic occupies the last, 85th place among the regions of the country in this indicator, according to RIA Novosti data.

As of May 1, the volume of overdue mortgage debt in the North Caucasus Federal District amounted to 10 billion rubles. Since the beginning of the year, that is, in 4 months, the figure has increased 2.8 times.

In the regions of the North Caucasus, the ratio of the number of vacancies to the number of unemployed is close to zero. In Ingushetia, there are 128 unemployed people per 1,000 residents - a record for the country. In second place is Dagestan, where 52 out of 1,000 people are unemployed.
